After some weeks finally Waffle is almost complete. Waffle, allows AmigaOS4 users to read old Amiga floppy disks. A task that was previously impossible due to the incompatibility of modern hardware with floppy drives without external hardware like Waffle.
I stumbled onto Rob Smith's floppy project a few years ago. (If anybody has the link to the YouTube video where he first recreates the Amiga floppy "click", I can't find it anymore.) I hadn't realized how much it's taken off since then!
I'm happy it's finally made its way to OS4, but my original wish was for a PCI-E or PCI card that not only incorporates a floppy controller, but original Amiga keyboards (using the original protocol), and Amiga joysticks/mice/paddles, too. With not only drivers for the OS, but also support in UBoot, Kickstart, etc. Maybe somebody will eventually take this on, too?
This is really neat. I am only really a Next Gen Amigan BUT if this device lets me buy some of these Homebrew Amiga games that come out on floppy and play them, I may have to buy one of these!
I am starting to play some ADF and older games these days on my X5K.

I think we all would be doing a lot more of that if there was a more recent and user-friendly distribution of E-UAE, with things pre-configured.
@afxgroup
Thanks a lot for the effort! You don't think there's a chance for a compatible disk drive that would be internal, rather than an external box like the Waffle is?
It depends from the size of the case but of course it could be inserted into an old pc case for example. However you need an USB cable connected to an USB port too
Where did you find one? I was looking for one for over one year, but they were always out of stock.
@afxgroup Thank you for the great work!
Would it work with a greaseweazle 4.1 too? Or have I made the wrong buying decision once again?
I just bought one a couple of weeks ago. Didn't even l know the waffle hardware existed and although I watch Rob's videos every now and then, I haven't heard about his hardware either.
