Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
I was really surprised about "what python can do". Its more that just "scripting language" :) In next days we will have about 10 quality games !

Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
Just fill os4depot so it looks like we have alot of crappy..... sorry i meant quality games :)
EDIT: The pictures should be inside comments instead of the main news. Takes too much space and looks unprofesional. Sorry for beeing pesimist but my electronic beard trimmer crashed and that means more money to spend on new one. |

Yes, it's a bit surprising how many news posters that have missed that we basically never allow custom images on the front page in news items :) |

On your YouTube video game run perfectly, my Sam isn't too slow than you MicroA1
Maybe those games need to be "fixed" on Sam ? |

@Samo79
On my peg2/1ghz it works very fast too (but must to say, but when you meet with "Boss" in some part it start to be a bit slow). But in general everything very fast and shouldnt be slow on sam (imho). |

Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
@kas1e
Probably isn't a CPU issue infact other games works perfectly on my Sam, maybe there is some compilation issue or somethings that need to be optimized to run this game smoothly on Sam :-/ For example I have similar problem in Ghouls and Ghosts remix (written with Allegro) |

Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
I had a problem to start with.
1-I did n`t know i had a version of Python installed already on 4.1.2 so i downloaded an older version on OS4 Depot and assigned it. Obviously that failed. I noticed the discussion on Python being already on 4.1 and found it then assigned in userstartup. 2- Downloaded the extra sdl.so files required and one of them complained of "too many levels on the soft link" but it eventually copied and pasted after deleting each level. Now the games work great. Thanks. Keep it up chaps. |

Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
Strange, I have the required shared objects, even checked deps for the ones in pygame, yet the games (I didn't try all but several) crash python on startup. Simple python scripts still work.
Before I installed sdl_ttf.so, one or two of them worked, albeit with the OS complaining on startup, until it was time to exit. Probably need to replace some of the .so files, since I haven't seen anybody else reporting this. I have no broken links. |

Re: PyGame ported to AmigaOS!
Maybe i wrong, but as far as i remember, if you not have some .so, then you will have window "you not have that .so". But if user not have that window, very possible that he use some old version of os4 => what can cause any possible problems (imho of course)
