Good job Edgar.
You couldn't use the OS4 Python? |

@ Elwood
Thanks! No, I couldn't use the OS4 python. For Gnumeric I needed the linker library (libpython2.6.a) and the include files, which are not publically available (as far as I know). But more important: My port offers support for things like pyGTK, pyPango etc. |

@cygnusEd
Installing the new version right now. Great! Thanks for update! I've also used Gnumeric for some fairly complex work and it's been great. Any chance you've ever been able to find a solution to the off-color PIP display in AmiCygnix? --- I'd also like to remind folks where they can really show their gratitude for CygnusEd's efforts... http://www.schwan-clan.de/amiga/Donate.html Thanks Edgar! First: Thank you very much for your generous donation . And also a big thank you to the others, who made donation! The PIP problem cannot be solved by me. I have to contact the developer of the driver. In the meantime you could try to replace the current Radeon driver ("ATIRadeon.chip" in "Sys:Kickstart") with the one from the first OS 4.1 release (current filesize: 173508 bytes, old file: 139468 bytes). Works here on my system (SAM flex). Important! Make a backup of you current Radeon driver!! |

Re: Gnumeric 1.8.4 for AmiCygnix released
@CygnusEd
Finally got a quiet day to play with Gnumeric. It looks like there might be a couple loose ends in the latest version. When I start it, I get a few things showing up in the cygnix console:
/Cygnix/Home/root/.gtkrc-2.0:8: Unable to find include file: ".gtkrc-2.0.mine"
As for the Radeon driver... I don't think the devs want the testers just using old drivers... :) ...I'll see if a bugreport hasn't been filed already. Thanks! PJS |

Re: Gnumeric 1.8.4 for AmiCygnix released

I think you should not worry about these messages. The first two messages are not caused by gnumeric itself and should also appear on startup of any other GTK application. To the first message: The file ".gtkrc-2.0.mine" is for own GTK+ settings (for advanced GTK users), which are not overwritten by the GTK preference program "lxappearance". You could create an empty file in "Cygnix:Home/root" to remove this message. The second message is caused by a bug in the Amiga GTK theme. I will try to fix it in the next AmiCygnix update. The third message is a bit unclear to me. Maybe you opened a document with an unknown font in it? |
