Re: Amiga Future in Color?
I agree with Roman with that. Even +10 euros it's ok.

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
@Andreas
Check a poll, everyone vote for +2 for color version. I told you, everyone will pay more for fullcolored and non-retro looking mag. Hope next issues will be colored, and so, i will start my subscribing as well :) |

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
Almost everyone voted for +2 euros, but when it comes to pay for the full-color magazine, that's the deal.

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
@Phantom
I think just adding 2 euro (holy, its just 2 euro, its just nothing really), for fullcolored and only one amiga magazine even will not worth to think about, and everyone will do that. |

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
I pay my magazines via subscription so it doesn't bother me. 2 euros is nothing, less than 1/3 of the price of a packet cigarettes, or nearly a ******* litre of petrol.

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
10 euros is a perfect and round price per issue, in color we will see the picture of the people best.

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
I feel that people think that it's 2 euro more for 1 year which is not.
For me it would make the subscription fee jump from 42 euro to 54 euro. It's starting to cost much. Another option would be 1 less issue in the year and still the current price. |

Imho everyone understand that its for "per number". Quote:
+12 euro for 1 year (!) subsciption its "starting cost much" ?:) I mean when aos4 cost 100 eur, samxx cost 600-1000, x1000 will be 3k. And so, +12 euro (!) in 1 year , its "start cost much" ? 42 its ok, but 55 are not ?:) If we want new customers and new programmers, we should to do everything "right". Black and White mags its only for retro geeks, or for just hardcore amiga fans. But full colored one, will pleasant everyone, and i am sure there will be more subscribers (and maybe not only hardcore amiga fans, but someone else as well). |

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
As Roman said. We spend a lot of money in Amiga hardware and software, we can't spend 20-30 euros more for a full-colored magazine per year?

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
AmigaFuture already costs too much, and I find it hard to justify buying every issue as it is (even though it is a quality magazine).
Please keep the cost down! HOWEVER, I would gladly change from B&W dead-trees to Colour PDFs . Not only would this SaveThePlanet(TM), it would also save me a lot of "shelf space", and also be much more convenient for reading (easy to carry a few 10s of MB on a 16GB MicroSD card in my Android phone). @Kas1e Please remember that not everyone is like you, and especially the "silent majority" may not think the same as you. I suspect that they MAY tend to be a bit less enthusiastic about AmigaOS, and so may find it harder to justify buying AmigaFuture. My stab-in-the-dark prediction is that a 30% rise in price (i.e. +2 euros per issue) will lead to a 30% *reduction* in sales of Amiga Future after 1-2 years, even though it will contain colour. But Amiga Future can make a more accurate prediction of sales, by looking at sales of "AF with CD" versus "AF without CD". If very few people buy "AF with CD", then people care a LOT about price, and so 2 euros will cause a big reduction. OTOH, if most people buy "AF with CD", then people care LITTLE about price, and so 2 euros is probably a good risk to take. P.S. I am unable to vote, and I suspect I am not the only one. Probably needs registering on the AmigaFuture forum? That heavily biases it towards AmigaFuture hard-core fans, and so the outcome is decided before it starts.... |

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
@ ChrisH
I believe a PDF will be a disaster. Sure you like PDFs magazines, but there are also people, like me, that they don't like PDFs magazines at all. So we are somewhere in the middle. I don't think that color-PDFs will do the job. The real thing, is much better don't you think? About me, I prefer the real thing, than silly PDFs. The real thing you can read it everywhere (in office, at work, lying on bed, at holidays etc). I don't need to concentrate my eyes to the monitor reading PDFs magazines every time. Also, as far as I know, AF with CD sells very well, that's why AF still has two options through the years (with or without cover CD). PS: Registering to a forum, you know that's a 2-minute job. If you really like to vote then why not registering to Amiga Future? Even if you aren't reading AF, your vote will be much appreciated. |

Yeah you cannot read a PDF whilst sat on the toilet either - at least you probably shouldn't! |

I was NOT suggesting they get rid of the dead-paper magazine, but merely offer PDF as alternative. The PDF could be in colour, the dead-paper mag stay in B&W because of costs. Hell, PDF is so cheap to produce & distribute that they could provide the PDF along *with* the magazine (preferably as a download for subscribers since I don't get the CD). Quote: Registering to a forum, you know that's a 2-minute job. I (along with many other people) absolutely *hate* registering, because it is another user ID & password to keep track of. (And please don't tell me to use the same password for everything, as the news about all the web site hacking attacks shows how bad an idea that is.) |

Re: Amiga Future in Color?
hi
about PDF We would make a print mag not a PDF mag. The other problem is, when to many users change from print to PDF we print not enough copys from the mag and that are the dead of the mag. to make a color-pdfs only for subscribers make others problems. first the time and money that all print-subscribers can download the pdf nothing other and the second we must layout the mag 2x. 1 in colir and 1 in b&w. that cost time and money, too. |
