Don't suppose you could knock up a client that works in reverse could you?
i.e. connect from remote PC into Amiga. That! Would be mighty handy! (Heck, i'd pay for such a program!) |

Re: Remote Desktop 2007-1 now available!
I have a working samba installation (thanks Mikey_C!)
I can ping and assign the other two machines on my network, but i was never able to use RDesktop, either it's timing out or, worse, locking up. Anyone care to give a how-to, please? I'd love to switch off the XP monitor once and for all... |

@Raziel
You're using XP PRO i assume? XP Home doesn't support Remote Desktop IIRC. Anyways, if you're using XP Pro then the only configuration needed on the Windows side should be to open the System Properties, selecting the "Remote" tab and hooking the "Allow users to connect..." box. Also, if the Windows user you use to connect from the Amiga side isn't an Administrator you'll have to add the user by hitting the "Select Remote Users" button in the same window and then choosing the user. After hitting OK the Windows Firewall should configure itself to allow Remote Desktop connections. A problem *might* occur if you're using some other firewall software such as the Norton package (spit). |

While anything is technically possible, at this point it would be too much of a hack. We need proper support in the OS for this to be done correctly. That is something I can talk to the OS4 development team about. I would love capability too, but please don't hold your breath :) I will need to get quite a bit more donation money (perhaps a bounty would be required) in order to get a server project done. |

@HammerD
I would also like to have a working server. Please PM me about what OS support you need for it and I'll see what I can do. |
