Well I'm very pleased to announce the third update to SketchBlock.

SketchBlock 1.3

New features include support for bitmap brushes, more ARexx comands, brush slection via the GUI. Suport for ToolBox windows so that the main sketch window remains active whilst changing settings and much much more ..

I don't think sketchblock would be suitable make sprites (I assume you mean for webdesign?) just at the moment, but in the next release it will have more control of layers, and some more import functions, so then it will be easier.
