Yes add the assign to your user startup. ;BEGIN SketchBlock Assign SketchBlock: <pathtosketchblock> ;END SketchBlock add the DEFER option if you don't want the assign to appear in requesters until needed. |

Re: SketchBlock 1.7 Out Now!
@broadblues
Why does it need a "Sketchblock:" assignment? Can't it just use "PROGDIR:"? If there are external "plugins" or scripts which need the assignment, then couldn't Sketchblock just issue something like: AssignLock("Sketchblock", Lock("PROGDIR:", ACCESS_READ)) |

Re: SketchBlock 1.7 Out Now!
@Andy
Of course no, but you may advice the users that an assign is mandatory, altrough isn't better to get rid this assign at all ? |

Re: SketchBlock 1.7 Out Now!
@ChrisH
As I explained at the end of this thread http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum ... t_id=72757#forumpost72757 the assign is used for ARexx to find the scripts referenced in the menus and now the keyboard shortcuts. Non of the alternate methods dealt with the situation that the 'commands' in the xml file could be either 'scripts' or internal ARexx commands, and that to add any extra parsing would be dupliacting the work that arexx.class is allready doing. |

Re: SketchBlock 1.7 Out Now!
@Samo
It's not strictly mandatory as the user is encouraged to edit the xml prefs and create their own menu setups. (there will be a GUI for this later). But, and I quote: Quote:

That is another option, similar the way AWeb created "AWebPATath:" when it was active. I have thought about that, but I was never sure how friendly a thing that was to do... |

Re: SketchBlock 1.7 Out Now!
Would using APPDIR:Sketchblock be a better solution? No need for Sketchblock: assign in startup scripts.
