![]() Good to hear that it works
![]() To Gimp: Of course it is possible to make things better. To increase the speed of the Gimp plug-ins, I have to modify my code for plug-in handling. I have some ideas, but currently this is what we have. Did you install the first loader package? These loaders override the internal loader plug-ins, which are much faster than the external plug-ins in this package. If yes, delete the loader plug-ins in "Cygnix:CygnixPPC/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins". |

Thanks for you hard work with this. I have done a clean install but I only get a grey screen with an X cursor. No background or programs load (I used Audacious). I have tried various graphics drivers with no luck. SAM 460 with Radeon 4650. Any ideas appreciated. ace |

![]() Have updated my system, this is great news, AmiCygnix gives us so much more software and makes it possible to handle 'common' formats using our beloved Amigas, would be nice to have such things 'native' but this is a good option for us, well done all involved

![]() Great work, thanks.
I have one question. When running Pidgin for example in a window, and I click elsewhere on the workbench screen to make AmiCygnix's window inactive, when I change screens in workbench and come back again AmiCygnix's window get active automatically all the time. Hope that you can fix this also. |

Do you have this problem with all the display drivers? Does the system freeze or just only the X11 display? And do you only have this problem since the update to 1.2? I have no idea, what's going wrong here. You could try to deactivate the systems user-startup (except the AmiCygnix part of course) and try it again. Maybe this helps me to understand the problem: * Open a shell and CD to "Cygnix:" * type "set ECHO on" + return * call "Start_AmiCygnix.bat" and post the output here. |

Thanks! It was really hard work to find and fix the bugs. Special thanks goes to Tommysammy, who helped a lot while bug hunting! @VooDoo Sounds bad. Maybe you should switch to a SAM. I know it's a lot of money, but the AOne boards seems not to be very stable. My AOne XE died some years ago already. |

Please try this version of the display driver: xpicasso96wb.library. Copy it to "Cygnix:Libs". |

There is something wrong while getting the display number. What do you get, if you call rx Cygnix:S/GetDisplayNumber.rexx ${Cygnix/DISPLAY} ? |

![]() Ed I get the number 0.
Today I did a complete fresh reinstall of OS4.1 up2 to up5. I have a KVM and I even tried using the onboard graphics but funnily enough I had huge problems getting the system to boot using the onboard SG502 after update5, the system just hung time and time again at the end of kmod loading. The previous version of AC worked perfectly fine. cheers ace |

I think I have exactly the same problem as Spectre660 as he outlined on AW.net. I think he is using the new RadeonHD driver (.54) as I am (but I only updated that today). ace |

I have sorted it. There seems to be a bad bug inUpdate 5 in relation to using onboard graphics on SAM460. I have spent the night tracking it down as it also causes clashes when trying to use a PCIe card as well. My miggy would just not boot after a clean install to update 5 and I have given up on trying the onboard graphics, having fiddled everything for hours I now have Amicygnix booting again. Cheers ace |

The tif is the one i think is very slow. I'm editing 60-80mb tifs from a dvd im borrowing. Takes ages to load. After its loaded its ok to edit etc. I think i have installed the extra stuff, but i think that this plugin is not part of the internal loaders??? |

There is an internal plug-in for loading and saving TIFFs. So you can delete "tiff-load" and "tiff-save" in "Cygnix:CygnixPPC/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins". |

It seems that i do not have any loaders in that dir. So it seems it is using the interla loaders. I will try and see if there is any difference with the internal and external loaders. If there is an external tif loader that is. ![]() |

No I don't believe there is a problem with the latest Radeon HD driver. There appears to be a problem with the PCIGraphics.card file in Kickstart as my 460 will not boot with Siliconmotion with any update of this file, so I stopped trying and went back to a clean install using my Radeon 4650, I must say I found some wierd stuff in my old install (lots of protection bits cheanged etc). Anyway just wanted to say a big thank you for all your hard work with AC, it is a real quality piece of work and I know you work extremely hard on it and you always support boof heads like me when all doesn't go well. ace |

Been testing some here. Seems like the inbuilt tiff is good enough. It uses 4secs to load and show a 94mb tif.But that was from the hd. I think i need to check the settings of my cdrom as its very slow. |

Thanks for the information. Always good to know, that it is not the fault of my baby ![]() @Antique Four seconds for a 94 MB file sounds good. The only disadvantage of the internal driver is, that you cannot change any settings. This will change in Gimp 2.6 ![]() |

![]() If you use the normal Tiff saver plug-in, you can choose a compression method or add a comment. The internal plug-in always uses "no compression". Same with JPEG and PNG plug-ins.
