Re: A-FTP Server
Nice. I've been hoping for an AmigaOS FTP server that's easy to set up (unlike rc-ftpd).

Re: A-FTP Server
PEB,
The program is great. It's my lack of FTP experience/knowledge that prevents me from getting what I want. I can log onto the Amiga from a Win7 box on the LAN. But I don't know the syntax to get anywhere higher in the path than the partition on which A-FTP is running. (Telecom:) i.e. I have path set in A-FTP as Data: on the Amiga. On the Win7 box, with Filezilla, of course, it will not work if I specify Data: as the path. So I just tell it to use / as the path, and it gives me my whole Telecom: partition to browse. Nice, but not what I really wanted. In fact, I'd like to be able to browse both Data: and Telecom: on the Amiga from the Windoze box. What syntax would get me that result? Sorry for the FTP 'noob' question. Paul |

Re: A-FTP Server
That MuiRoyale plugin make Hollywood apps at least looks like normal native ones, with all those mui user's settings, RMB menus and co. Only one noticable differences its size of hollywood binaries (in compare rc-ftpd size just a few kbs , while a-ftp-server is 3mb binary itself + 500kb for plugin), but when programm good, works well, and looks and feels fully native, then 100kb or 3mb make no big difference.
As for app itself, it works pretty fine (i test it with aos4's pftp and with winxp's total-commander inbuild ftp manager). Can connect/reconnect, dl/browse everything i need, and for sure, setup of a-ftp-server if much easer in compare with, for example, rc-ftpd. Through it has some small bugs (which i already report to author) and some discussable moments, but in general it can be used already and pretty fine. Hope soon all more or less good hollywood apps (like for example LoView) will be redone with MuiRoyale |

Re: A-FTP Server
In new version iconify still didn't works right and intuitive. Iconify should just remove gui from screen, and put an icon on desktop, by pressing on which app will be un-iconifed back, but in case with a-ftpserver, its just disappear totally, and only way to show a gui again, its run "excahnge" tool and press "show interface".
Which, by itself, not as "iconify" works usually. But in others all is fine , can start from RAM: , all works, etc. |

Re: A-FTP Server
PEB,
Your double slash "//" fix got me going the way I wanted to be able to use this so I can browse the Amiga from my Windoze box. Thanks Paul |
