BUT, why so few panels? The Boing ball has 8 vertical panels.

Because it would have become more expensive, bigger and very likely couldn't have been produced in Germany anymore, but China. That in turn would have meant to order and pay upfront for several thousand (!) units (far too many) and loosing the certificate.

The purple plush tentacle is also around 20 Euros, so where's the difference.. and beside that: Nobody forces you to buy it :p
