Re: Excalibur 1.3.5 on OS4Depot.net
I've found a few...
C: & V: meters are broken again. nothing shows in rgb mode and classic draws huge bars again. In the settings program RGB values are read wrong, they BGR, eg entering ffff00 (yellow) gives cyan, ff0000 gives blue not red, 0000ff red not blue. Edit: another couple of bugs: Clicking on the screens buttons doesn't change screen. show all files in the menu doesn't. |

Re: Excalibur 1.3.5 on OS4Depot.net
Show all files in the prefs is only the default behavior, if a icon is present, it should depend on the drawer icon, it will only use program settings if icon cannot be found, this is a new feature in 1.3.1 I think, anyway it's not a bug.
Everything else sounds like bugs, I need to investigate, RGB stuff was last min changes, so I might have over looked something or assumed something. Memory meter bugs, I don't know most have done something different the second time I fixed it then the first time, I know I did it pretty quickly, did not test a lot, hard to do so when you have 1Gbyes and is never affect by the bug. I have not really tested screen buttons in a while, if I remember right your using the tiny toolbar settings. |

Re: Excalibur 1.3.5 on OS4Depot.net
Show all files... Ok. seems I'll need to go through my hardrives and change tens of thousands of icons to show all files then.... Fun
I was using large toolbar with clock when I tested the screens buttons. It's easy to test the memory thing... get the memory variables, double them then pass them to your routines... instant 2G system |

Fun Or just delete the icon There are pobedy not all folders you like to show all files, its probably not useful to show data files and config files in programs and games directories, thats way the changes was made. So by doing this way it gives the user better control, anyway it might be useful to be able to switch between the two modes. Quote: Clicking on the screens buttons doesn't change screen. I really don't know what happened her, it most have been my nabbers cat waking over the keyboard or something, because this was really horrible. Never try to program with a pussy around, they usually get very upset that you are ignoring them and cause trouble Quote: I think I fixed that now, just some functions using signed parameters, I hope that works better for you, I don't see any difference Working great now, thanks. A few suggestions... Can you add font colour and shgadow colour to the toolbar options. it seems to default to black here (gui prefs settings possibly), so a black shadow on black text doesn't really work. An option to have the toolbar off screen and only popup/fadein/slideup when you move the mouse to the bottom line of the screen (I think fadein would look good, have the window totally transparent and not respond to mouse clicks until the mouse is over it then fade it in to the users setting and respond to clicks, move off the window and fade out again. probably need a user selectable fade time). it would mean monitoring the mouse position several times a second but I think OS4 machines could handle the strain |

Re: Excalibur 1.3.5 on OS4Depot.net
Yes font shadow RGB colour sound like a good idea.
Quote: An option to have the toolbar off screen, yes, its on my todo list, for where where long time now, if you know how gnome did it, you know what I'm think about. Quote: popup/fadein/slideup popup is possible. Fadein, no think there going to be a problem between alpha clip and fade option on window, where alpha clip will win, so not so easy, maybe alpha_hook can do it, I think we just going to drop that idea. Slideup, If possible I like move window outside the screen, and move back inn, but instead of coming from the down up, I think from left or right sides, it simply interfere less with the desktop. The mouse already monitored on an event bases, it does not busy loop, like your suggesting, it will eat too many CPU cyles when there is not thing to do. This CPU cycles are for other program to use, not to be wasted on a program starter, doing nothing. This most important feature is the context menus, because it enables the user to do things whit out using the menu editor all the time, and also because you really have where limited access to toolbar icons, and also gives the user more options. |
