![]() Cool - this looks great!
If the X11 windows could be promoted to the WB screen then this could be very useful indeed. But to see this running on OS4 is very promising indeed. Great work! :) |

![]() Can you tell me something about the X11? Is it something similar to, let's say, MUI? Why it has to be run on separate screen?

![]() @AmiKit
MUI and Reaction depends on Intuition GTK and QT depends on X11. AmigaOS Intuition (Library/API) provided some thing like the X11R6 (graphic server). X11 provides borderless windows for applications, that applications can render using a predefined X11 API, the API is built on top of OSI layer, provided access over internet and local network, X11 can be used as a remote administration tool if you like. X11 do not provided window borders, icons or menus or any thing like that but depends on separate program to do that. What we need is an X11 to Intuition wrapper, so every thing that depends on X11 can displayed on workbench screen, transparently, that?s how the MacOSX X11R6 server works. There have been attempts to make a GTK to Reaction wrapper or GTK to MUI wrapper, but has proved to be complicated, and it does not provided a solution to programs using QT or any other widget toolkits that common to Linux. |
