icon.datatype
I really like your Preferences, but I must admit that I won't use it until it doesn't depend on the icon.datatype. Since the beginning an active icon.datatype had and has side effects, so I stopped using it since AmigaOS 3.5. It would be very nice if you would redesign Preferences to use icons directly via icon.library or a similar way.

Since this program is written in Hollywood and it doesn't currently support the icon.library, I have to use the datatype to read the icons. However, I can take a look and see if I can come up with some kind of workaround, that avoids the datatype altogether (this workaround may be little too slow, not sure though). |

icon.datatype
Regarding the side effects I might make some tests. I remember that I had problems with icons without a progrma/file (aka single .info files). Those are part of the AmigaOS philosophy i.e. for starting scripts etc. - I'll try to reproduce that.
Maybe you should ask Andreas if he could integrate access to the icon.library into Hollywood...maybe some day... :-)

Already asked, http://forums.hollywood-mal.com/viewt ... 9&p=5815&hilit=icon#p5811 Regarding the side effects, ok I see.. Let's see if I can come up with a solution for this or if it gets fixed in Hollywood, so maybe in future releases |
