RE: Interview Paolo Cattani (The Alien)
Thanks for the interview. I remember being impressed with Virtual Grand Prix running on my A1200 years ago.
Someone with his contact details should let him know that yes, AmigaOS 4 has OpenGL 2 support (via the GL4ES wrapper), so a VGP2/3 port should be possible. It would be great to have the latest VGP version back on the Amiga.

RE: Interview Paolo Cattani (The Alien)
As someone said, this confirms that it was optimized for the Amiga hardware. A true 3d Amiga game. No need to chunky to planar conversion. So the planar method was more powerful than what has been said so many times. So all those famous 3D PC games from the 90s could have been made on Amiga natively.

Quote: I think there is not a complete Open GL 2 Yes we do, via GL4ES. Sure we've had some teething issues, but we can fix anything that doesn't work. Hans |

RE: Interview Paolo Cattani (The Alien)
I agree with Hans that a port is probably doable. Possibly game is portable even with OpenGL ES 2.0 version.
I don't believe that the game uses every possible OpenGL 2.0 feature. If it uses fixed function calls, they could and should be replaced with faster methods, too. Nice interview, by the way. |

RE: Interview Paolo Cattani (The Alien)
Thanks Capehill
I had some exchange emails with Paolo, If a full OpenGL2.0 is done, He said he might be interested in porting.

So, is he going to give it a shot? As I said above, we have OpenGL 2.0 support via GL4ES, and we're happy to help if needed.
