I don't know much about GMail, but it used to work. The current port of Sylpheed supports TLS up to version 1.2. Did you configure GMail to need TLS 1.3 (I don't know if it is possible)? What does the log window say (menu "Tools/Log window")? |

- If you use 2-Step Verification you have to set up an App password for E-Mail clients, the regular google password can't be used. - If you don't use 2-Step Verification you have to enable "Allow less secure apps" in the settings to be able to use E-Mail clients. |

Less Secure Apps doesn't exist anymore (since 2022/05/30). I will try the 2-steps verification thingie but I'm afraid it makes all the reste more complicated :( |

![]() With GMail you have exactly the same problem with any E-Mail client, incl. Thunderbird and K9 Mail.
Google doesn't want you to use E-Mail clients (no ads) but the GMail web interface (with ads) instead ![]() |

No because Thunderbird, Outlook or Mail (macOS) and even Iris (MorphOS) are trusted by Google so they work without any trouble. |

![]() No, google don't trust these email clients. The clients just implement an authentication mechanism (i think O-Auth its named), which currently cannot or is to hard to be implemented on an Amiga.

![]() Thanks, it was not clear.
Iris homepage ( https://iris-morphos.com/ ) indicates this : "Verified by Google to access Gmail accounts via OAuth2/Sign in with Google" |

![]() Today I discovered, that the latest 3.8 beta of Sylpheed supports oauth2. I don't like to port beta software, but when I have the time, I will try it.
