Why the heck is there only a boxed version??? I don't want one, I don't want boxes lying around; they end up getting thrown away.

@utri007: When we talked to Betatesters and our publisher everyone wanted a boxed version. As I explained you on a different forum already. Making boxed version and digital version in parallel is a bad idea. Best regards, Steffen "MagicSN" Haeuser

I just uploaded a "Preview" of the first Multiplayer-Mod for H2 OS4 to os4depot. It currently does not work with all Maps (it works with the multiplayer Maps of H2, and with the - included with the Mod - CTL_Forts Map, a more complete version of the Mod will be released later). Of course the Mod requires the full version of Heretic 2 for OS 4. BTW most singleplayer Mods for H2 from PC will also work with H2 OS4 (those which do not require new DLLs). Also H2 OS4 is savegame compatible with the WarpOS version (it is not savegame compatible with the PC version though).

I just updated the "Preview" with the final version of THF 3.0 for OS 4. Now all the THF Maps work (and are also included into the Multiplayer Menu, so you do not have to start the Addons Maps by hand). The problem was actually in the original code of the Multiplayer Mod. The Mod author had saved a string in an uninitialized pointer. But this was easily fixed.

Seems os4depot could not handle the „reupload on same day“ and showed the old version. I just reuploaded it, correct version with all maps is sized 77 mb.

I am glad to see this game given a second outing. I remember playing it on my A1200T back in the day, with the blizzard 603 & BVision add on. Was hoping to play it on my humble MicroA1 but alas, it looks like it's too old and underpowered for it. So I guess, I'll have to skip it and move on to other stuff.

It is a bad idea only if people don't want the boxed version. If people want the boxed version, they buy one even if there is a digital version available, but those who don't want boxes don't buy it.

Anyways for H2 there is only the boxed option. It was aber he same 20 years ago. You can drop the matter now. And it is not only for H2. Other games on Amiga not by Hyperion go the box route only too. That’s because that’s what the market wants. Nobody makes an alternative sales option for just one person. We actually added a printed manual to the original plans after being told “You cannot sell a new Amiga game without a printed manual”. On Amiga market digital sales of games are for games which have been on market for a very long time. Anyways you can drop the matter, it won’t Change. H2 is boxed sale. I get the feeling this is not about H2 but a matter Of principle.

Mikey_C: If you have a 3d card should be fine. A tester had a 800 mhz MicroA1 and he got 39 fps in 3D hw renderer in 640x480. Even 800x600 was still playable on his machine.

In all my years, I have not heard of anyone being able to get a graphics card working on a MicroA1.

Benchmarks for the MicroA1 running Heretic II was posted on Discord yesterday. It was using the Radeon 7000, which is the integrated graphics on the system. I have written the results down here as they are listed on Discord:

320x240 - 69 FPS MiniGL
480x270 - 55 FPS MiniGL
640x360 - 42 FPS MiniGL
640x480 - 39 FPS MiniGL / 19 FPS SW
800x600 - 24 FPS MiniGL

Hi! Ah, I was not familiar with the system, only with the benchmarks one of my testers sent me. Seems the 3D HW Data he sent is with the integrated Radeon, and as the data AmigaOldskooler sent, the speed is fine. Sure, not comparable to x1000 or x5000 or whatever, but definitely nicely playable using MiniGL. You can get all the comparision data on amigagaming.de (the webpage sometimes has some trouble loading) in the Benchmarks section. I posted the data (all from my Betatesters) on the Amigans discord yesterday though. It contains data of H2 on a wide range of OS4 capable systems, as well as data from QEmu (only from my older i7) and some of the 68k Alpha version on PiStorm. MagicSN

@Mikey_C: That's actually a bit of a weak spot right now. Not too many resellers out there interested in H2 it seems or generally interested in taking in OS4 Games :( If you have any suggestions whom we could contact in UK feel free to offer your suggestions.

Ok, seems the reupload of THF Addon with the recent version did not work. I reuploaded now again with the recent version (77 MB is the correct version). I forgot to replace the readme though (in the archive is the correct readme, only on os4depot it is still the old readme).
