Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
@spotUP
Well, I guess that ANY native 3D software, capable to take advantage of the full PPC power, be it ancient or not, is quite better than NO native software at all, and have to rely on even older 68k emulated soft. I'd say it's at least a good starting point. Anyway, it could be a port of Blender, modern, free and mantained -last version v2.45, dated 20th Sept 2007-, that already exists for MOS, and should not be very difficult to port it to OS4. Saluditos, Ferr?n. |

I agree with Ferry. I prefer AmigaOS programs compiled natively for OS4 than unixports.

@spotUP
It will not be Blender but it will be made native for PPC on Amiga OS 4.0. |

Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
@tfrieden: if one wants unixprograms one can run unix. But i think it's ok if they are "amigaized" with guis and so on.

I don't say ports are a bad thing. But i think it's nice with a older amiga programs compiled for OS4.

Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
I prefer the ported programs, because you can take what you are working from one system to an other and continue your work. That's why I prefer Blender than any other Amiga native 3D program. Unless if there would be plugins to load/import anything to that 3D program.

Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
I would like to see an up to date port of imagine. But that is not very likely...
So any port of a modern 3D render would be marvelous... All I need now is an Amiga running AOS4.0 :) give, give, give.. come on, come on, come on... |

Hmmm, maybe it's Tornado 3d, this is mostly PPC stuff.

Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
@tfrieden: Well i would of course use them (but if IBrowse had CSS support i would rather use that). I just don't understand why people are negative to an old Amigaprogram compiled for OS4.

Re: DiscreetFX to bring native 3D software to OS4?
I guess that it got to do with how up to date it's. Pretty much like if IBrowse 2.4 would be made PPC... it would offcourse be nice and all but mozilla firefox with a nice ReAction GUI or MUI GUI would be nicer in a way (lets see how it works and feals when the port is done).
Anyway, why complain if you get a good program to use for free? I know where you come from, I know exactly but... hey, we're getting new software, let's just leave it at that. And that goes to all off course |
