Amiga Events : What! A EuroDemo On a Amiga Video Toaster?

Amiga Events

Chicago, Illinois -- October 18th, 2007 -- Today DiscreetFX LLC, VisualFX software developer works to stimulate development on the Amiga Video Toaster 4000. We want to give every Amiga owner in the world a chance to taste the fun and excitement of the Amiga Video Toaster.

Back in 2004 everyone was shocked when DiscreetFX, with the help of NewTek, Bill Evans and Aaron "Aarexx" Ruscetta gave away the source code to the Amiga Video Toaster Flyer. DiscreetFX opened openvideotoaster.org and released the source code to the world. This Asm & C code is a blueprint to how video editing software works on the Amiga operating system. Now it is time to stimulate the Amiga Toaster community again with a compelling contest and content development offers. When the Video Toaster was released on the Amiga it was NTSC only and the rest of the world, Europeans especially did not get to experience the power and fun of the Amiga Video Toaster. Well, the world has moved on and the NTSC/PAL format incompatibilities don't matter as much today. Most TV's sold in Europe do PAL or NTSC and many computer display cards from NVidia & ATI will display/capture either format without problems.

DiscreetFX enjoyed the awesome Amiga demos that came out of the demo scene in the 1990's and even last year an impressive Amiga demo won at Assembly ?06 (Starstruck). This is a true testament to the Amiga and the Amiga demoscene. But DiscreetFX wants more, we want to see a demo coded to run on the Amiga Video Toaster 4000. You have the source code.

Now DiscreetFX will give you the hardware. Video Toaster 4000 cards are available from DiscreetFX immediately. We have also created an exciting bundle of software(A $400 value included with the card for free). We are also sponsoring a contest to the best demo created on the Amiga Video Toaster gets $1000. There will also be runner up prizes and give aways. We will be including DiscreetFX's Millennium with each card (A $300 value). You can buy this separately for $59.95 if you already have a Video Toaster 4000.

Millennium includes a special program called Wipe Studio, it lets you create your own color effects for the Toaster. This is how DiscreetFX created the Video Toaster version of Pyromania way back when. Amiga users are talented and we are looking for some of you to create some cool new effects with Wipe Studio. Make some impressive stuff and you can sell it through DiscreetFX and make money. A free DVD that explains how to make your own Video Toaster effects also comes with the bundle.

If we reach 100 orders of Video Toaster 4000's and or Millennium we will also complete development of DVE Director's Cut for the Amiga Video Toaster. This is our best selling product on TriCaster, VT[4] & SpeedEDIT. It is already 70% complete but we never get any calls for Amiga Video Toaster software so we did not finish it. DiscreetFX would love to see DVE Director's Cut also available to Amiga Toaster owners, that was the original plan. Help us stimulate the Amiga Video Toaster market and we will create bonus effects not included in the Windows version. Even today it is difficult to get all the features of the Amiga Video Toaster for under $5000. The included real-time four input switcher alone is still very expensive on other platforms.

The rest is up to you Amiga community, let the Amiga Video Toaster live on.

Please contact DiscreetFX Sales for questions or more information.
