Hans-Joerg
I don't wish to be seen as ungrateful, but I believe you and your brother are responsible for me playing Freespace - The Great war over and over again on my A1. (I have lost count of the amount of times I have played the game through) - I am Totally Addicted! Any chance you and him will ever release version 2? (Please? Pretty Please!) Well, if you don't ask!!!! |

Re: Descent II for AmigaOS 4
The docs say 'double click on the icon and play.' Just one question: how does one play on a black screen?

Just one question: how does one play on a black screen? Right, a bit more information would be helpful First, make sure you have the binary in the right directory, i.e. it must be able to find the DESCENT2.HOG file in the same directory. Secondly, try to launch the game with the "-debug -verbose" option and capture the output (either serial or with DumpDebugbuffer if you have memory buffers on) and look for clues in there. If in doubt, sent me the log file. |

I get DSI error after finishing first level on the demo version. Might be a demo version issue. There had been some problems with missing resources. According to my saved game statistic, I have been playing for almost 2 hours total, have gotten to level 9 or so, and I only had one crash so far. If you get a crashlog, send me that, I might be able to fix the problem. |

Re: Descent II for AmigaOS 4
@Valiant
Are you sure you have the required screen mode (320x240) available? I got a black screen too but after adding the screenmode to Radeon monitor icon tooltypes game started ok. |

@GrumpyOldMan
Thanks, that's probably the problem. I've added that screen mode and will try again. |

On my Amiga One I can't launch the game.
What's the problem? I have tried the Tooltypes and added the Picasso96 settings too. |

On my Amiga One I can't launch the game. Er.. exactly.. what is the problem? Can you be a bit more specific as to what exactly does or does not happen? Anything on the debug output? Anything reported missing by Snoopy? Tried to launch it from a shell? What did it say? Does it hang? Does it open a screen? A bit of information goes a long way to me helping you with your problem. |

Re: Descent II for AmigaOS 4
@MamePPCA1
Have you copied the 'libphysfs.so' (included in the d2x archive) to SOBJS: and rebooted AmigaOne after that? |

@tfrieden
Is this true also when you update an older .so library to a newer one? |

Re: Descent II for AmigaOS 4
For the moment, yes. The shared objects aren't really (shared, that is) - they are loaded for each program that opens them. Real sharing is planned, in that case, they will start to behave like the old libraries.
