Re: AmigaAMP 2.18 released
Even using this engine, the GR still appears on startup. But the DSI can be ignored, and then everything works fine (including the equalizer).

@PEB
Ignoring anything with the Grim Reaper is dangerous as it could mean the program has clobbered something else but you just don't know it yet. It is best to send the bug report to the maintainer(s) for fixing. |

Re: AmigaAMP 2.18 released
PEB,
Did you mix and match your own install manually to keep all your settings? I did, and I had a mess. When I ran a clean install, added a drawer for "engines" manuallty and put the OS4 decoder in there, it all worked well, except that the sound was horrible. THen I realized I haden't put Mixer back in since the "Final Update." All is well now. Good luck Paul |

Re: AmigaAMP 2.18 released
Hi Paul,
All I did was create the engines drawer in my AmigaAMP drawer and drop the new decoder engine in it. Actually, now it seems to load fine without any visits from the GrimReaper. So the problem may have fixed itself (or I inadvertently corrected something that I had previously messed up). Anyway, all works fine now. |

Re: AmigaAMP 2.18 released
One feature why I would still continue to use Amplifier over AmigaAMP is that I have Amplifier on dock icon and when I have way too many windows I simply press the dock icon of Amplifier and it appears in front, no need to search it and switch windows. When I press the AmigaAMP dock, it loads another AmigaAMP program. One feature why I would use AmigaAMP over Amplifier is the new AmigaOS 4 external engine which decodes with better quality. Damn I can't decide.

Re: AmigaAMP 2.18 released
AmigaAMP seems to run fine on my OS4 Final except for one niggle - it plays all MP3s at 10 times their proper speed. This happens whether I use mpega.library or the OS4-native external module.
Any ideas what may be causing this? |
