Re: Scalos 41.6 Released
I never tried Scalos before, but after seeing the history, i have to admit, i am really impressed.. just a question, what about the support of SQLLite ? why it has been added ? For what kind of use it has been implemented ?

Re: Scalos 41.6 Released
Has anyone tried the OS4 version yet?
As we dont seem to be getting DOPUS5 for OS4 any time soon scalos may make a nice alternative to workbench. |

Yes. Some nostalgic urge from classic amiga days made me to install it. Installation worked nicely (no issues except of missing "reboot" string in the relevant installer page). Some issues (besides iterative installing of the missing here lamp class from OS4.0 backup and popxxx from aminet): 1. prefs change in gui resets palette setting to what seems to be default WB palette. 2. moving files always pops choice menu (copy/move...). Didn't look inside for possibility to change to original behaviour) 3. perisitent windows is default (imho, should be optional) 4. background change took place only after reboot. Impressions: Workbench windows are nice Everything worked out nicely Less wb-startup items are needed. Will look into it more Edit: scalos prefs started reaping on me grimly Back to WB, got work to. Re: Scalos 41.6 Released
one of my partitions icons got replaced with an image with a red ball on it.
i tried to change it but it crashed. clicking scalos prefs crashed scalos. i think the default look of the os4 version of scalos should mimick the look of os4. also, the icons could be os4 icons, to make it blend in more with os4. i am removing it, sorry, it's to unstable yet. :/ |

Here Media icon from "Black" collection (Kens afair) is replaced by floppy image. Iconedit show "old image". Didn't investigate too much. Didn't crash though. Me waits for more stable release too, but it looks promising... |

clicking scalos prefs crashed scalos. [/quote} Here too (althought first time it opened ok afair) NOPREFSPLUGINS tooltype seems to cure the crash. I enabled NOSPLASHWINDOW as well. |
