Software News : OpenSSH 5.1p1 for AmigaOS

An updated OpenSSH package is now available for AmigaOS 4.1 users from OS4Depot.

Changes include:
- ported changes from official 5.1p1 baseline
- changed pipe buffer limits
- added break signal check before waitselect() call
- fixed bug in console window size reading
- compiled with GCC 4.2.4 and clib2 compiled with GCC 4.2.4
- now requires AmigaOS 4.1 or higher

For all our readers having a slow internet connection the Amiga Fever issues will be included on the Amiga Future cover CD 77 aswell.

ffmpegGUI v1.2 - a GUI front end for the OS4 compile of the ffmpeg program.

Version 1.2 adds a tab page to support mapping file streams as well as well as a menu to play the video files with an external player specified by the VPLAYER tooltype. (ie. MPlayer or DvPlayer). Also added support for the -shortest command.

The development of the new DBPro3 is slowly but steadily taking shape.

Our first goal is and was to code the whole program completly new to get more structure in order to improve and be more efficient.

Furthermore, the handling is the same as in DBPro2.x. The current development status is the internal version Alpha 17th.

Amiga Events : OpenAmiga.org status report

There is now 11 project open for grabs and 15 assigned projects on OpenAmiga.org. 2008 provided a slow start for OpenAmiga, as expected with the number of available developers for our platform. Hopefully 2009 will speed things up a bit with the SAM adding more and more os4 users to the fold. Still we managed to submit the extended mouse pointer types project to Hyperion and quite a bit of source code was submitted to the svn.

I'm happy to announce that WarpView 1.02 is now available for download and contains several bug fixes and improvements.

Update: v1.03 is available now on OS4depot.net and fixes some nasty bugs that slipped into v1.02.

The "Amiga Games List" (http://obligement.free.fr/articles/listejeuxamiga.php), maintained by David Brunet since april 1991 has been updated in its 38th edition. About 850 new entries have been added, the total now reach 13528 entries distributed as follows :

- 12416 games.
- 953 datas.
- 125 gamesor levels editors.
- 34 interpreters.

There are 424 AmigaOS 4 natives games. Most of them are ports.

KEGS is emulator of the Apple IIGS computers, running on many different platforms, including the Amiga. The Apple IIGS is a 16 bit computer produced by Apple as a successor to the legendary 8 bit Apple II computers.

Regular visitors of the Amiga Future homepage have already seen our new project available since the end of 2007.

The Beta 2 version of the Amiga Software Database (in short ASD) has been published on the Amiga Future homepage recently.

The ASD is a database in English and German which will include complete information on all released applications, CD-ROMs, literature and much more for the Amiga.

Hi Guys and Gals.

As you know, its our 10th Anniversary this Sunday 11th of January, Unfortunately, our planned E-UAE/Amiga Emulation session has had to be put off until next month.

Therefore we will be hosting a network/multiplayer gaming session. Any game that can run on an Amiga via networking or Multiplayer. This can include, Bomberman, Quake II, OTTD 0.4.7, Freespace, etc. etc.

So if you have a multiplayer/network game - bring it along with your Amiga.
