WooHoo! No polls is GOOD

It's what I asked for in the 'what do you want here' thread

Sorry, but sometimes I find your manner a bit disrespectful.

There is a button to create polls and I reported in this bug thread that this functionality does not work. What did I do wrong?

I am sorry to hear that you do not like polls.
Maybe I should first create a poll to ask if everyone likes polls before I create a second one?

I can't edit my faq post:

http://amigans.net/modules/newbb/view ... ost_id=1228#forumpost1228

The first entry in that thread the edit button has gone. I think it makes my original idea of editing it on a forum thread unusable.

That's ok, you can think what you like about my manner.
but as I'm comming from AW where polls are regularly abused it's nice not to have any for a while.

maybe a poll forum is the answer, all polls in one place so we don't have to keep falling over the things.

@ Mitch

There is a time out on the ability to edit all posts, it's due to certain naughty people on other forums who will write a trolling post then after they've had a few replies edit their original post to make them look like the innocent party.

The timeout is an excellent idea to stop that happening here.

Thank you for your explanation, Severin. I planned to create a poll to ask my fellow Amigans which Amiga computer model they favour, since I am planning to expand my collection of Amigas.
I hope that nobody will ever abuse the poll functionality on this website. This should stay a friendly website, there is no room for abuse here.

Maybe a moderator can comment if the poll functionality will be enabled in the future. Thank you!

Great idea! And the forum shouldn't appear on the front page. If people want to participate they'll know where to go.

If the general attitude towards polls is so negative among my fellow Amigans, it might be a better idea not to allow those on this website.
Since this is a friendly Amiga site, there should not be anything that might cause disruption and anger.

Hi, there, Amigans!

I don't know if it's a problem with the site, browser (FF2.0), me or if it's not implemented yet:
There are some envelopes before the threads on the forums menu, but I don't seem to be able to make a thread marked as read.

Anyhow, good work with the site!

A tip for this thread. It's long and it's easy to miss smthng. How about som kind of sticky list of todo/known-problems and maybe some kind of howto/FAQ. Maybe this is in the pipeline allready.

Indeed it is.

Another Bug or was it already listed... 14 pages of thread is a bit much to go through...

Go to http://amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewpost.php
Then click on [Previous TOPIC] or on [Next TOPIC]... You get an error ("Error: TOPIC NOT SELECTED" which make sense I guess, but it would be better if you were redirectred to the Home page or something...)...

//Edit1 :Edit Test number 1
//Edit2 :Edit Test number 2
... Well it doesn't seem to show that I edited this message twice... it used to show it IIRC ?

main menu -> forums

there is a listbox where i can select "view unread topics" and "mark all forums read".

my impression is that when i do the latter that the first one should not display anything... but it does.
means: i cannot mark everything read

One small issue I found while registering - once I activated my account, I tried to login on the page I was redirected to. It did log me in, but I was then taken to the activation page which told me I was already activated, and then redirected to itself.
